Classes will be limited to 10 students/class. Please note: Entrances to the building are located at both 516 and 526 W 26th Street. Our studio is on the 4th floor, suite 415. This is a long pose figure drawing and painting class that focuses on composition, proportions, gesture, values, color and oil painting technique. Working from the live model, students will learn to work in a direct alla-prima approach where they will aim for good draftsmanship, values and color. This is a fundamental skill in painting, and learning to mix colors in the right value and placing them correctly in the composition takes much practice. There will be constant demonstrations as well as critiques. Students of all levels are welcome.
